Hi, Shalom. My name is Arielle Shekel.

Designer and Founder

I was born in New York but raised in Tel Aviv, Israel since the age of 5. Being the third generation of graphic designers in my family, art and design have always been an inseparable part of my life. Upon turning 18, I joined the Israeli Defence Forces and served in an elite combat unit as a camouflage painter. After completing my mandatory, two-year military service, I studied Visual Communications at The Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. I graduated cum laude in 2012 and won several prestigious awards for my work. Since completing university I have been working as a designer - specializing in branding and visual identity with a strong focus on the design of start-ups at various stages.

For my graduation project at Bezalel I initiated the rebranding of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. On April 1st, 2015, my design became the official logo of the University.

In September 2014 I participated in the inaugural class of 30 Weeks, an exclusive entrepreneurship program for designers in New York City, sponsored by Google and in collaboration with Hyper Island, SVA, Pratt, Parsons and The Cooper Union. During the program I began the journey as the founder of my own start-up, Ananas - an educational platform which enables children around the world to meet, teach and experience each other’s language and culture.

During 2016 I worked at Columbia University Business School, building a new Master's program - CUBE, which will integrate Business, Engineering, Design and Storytelling, as the four disciplines required for bringing an idea to reality. I helped found and form the Infrastructure of the program, establish connections with the NYC design community, and create its name and branding.
